The club competes on Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday morning at the Northern Gold Coast. The Basketball club plays in the Northern Gold Coast Seahawks competition, catering for male and female athletes from 7-years to Opens.

The purpose of our club sports is linked to our overarching College mission: 
"To inspire excellence in teaching, learning, service and faith."

 

With a holistic educational approach, our sporting clubs aim to offer the students at the College a range of opportunities that will help them develop skills and attitudes they need to reach their full potential.

 

Our major club goals are centred around:

  • Build self-esteem and camaraderie;
  • Provide meaningful and challenging experiences;

Club Registration

Anyone is welcome to join the CACaburra Basketball Club. 

Registrations to play for the Coomera Anglican College Basketball Club in the Northern Gold Coast Seahawks competition can be completed online through Basketball. 

The Basketball Club runs across two separate seasons:

  • Season One: January - June
  • Season Two: July - August
  • Under 8s Mini Ball operates per term. 
  •  

All payments are made through BasketballConnect.

Registration age is based on what the student will turn this year, this information is available from  Northern Gold Coast Seahawks 

 

SWOOPHER HOOPERS

Swooper Hoopers is an introductory Basketball programme offered by  Northern Gold Coast Seahawks . This programme is available for boys and girls aged 5 - 8 years. This programme is offered at Coomera Anglican at different times as part of our cocurricular programme. 

This is a good introductory programme for children. 

 

Training

Training is held on campus at Coomera Anglican College throughout the week. Training can be held in the morning, or after school in the afternoon depending on the division players are in. 

 

Games Played

Games are played traditionally on a Thursday an Friday evening or on Saturday. 

Policies and Procedures 

All players, parents, guardians and extended family members of players registered with CACAburra Basketball Club are expected to adhere to the Codes of Behaviour. 

Coaches

Frank Goldfinch

Frank Goldfinch is the Head of Basketball at Coomera Anglican College. Frank heads up the Club and Basketball Academy. Frank Goldfinch made his NBL debut with the Brisbane Bullets on 22/2/1981. He scored four points in his first game. Frank Goldfinch played four seasons in the NBL, playing for both the Brisbane Bullets and the Newcastle Falcons. He averaged 5.1 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 79 NBL games. Frank is passionate about the fundamentals and ball handling skills as the core of the Academy and Club.

Information regarding how to purchase Basketball Uniforms is sent through to parents once registration has been completed.
